It's international Star Wars day!
My inner nerd yearns to celebrate and throw the this phrase all around town.
All day I have seen the phrase pop up on social media along with photos and I love it!

The history buff in me is a bit torn. Although I do love Star Wars and a cute puns, this day has great historical significance for my heritage.
May 4th is the day, where the danes were liberated from the German occupation of WWII. Not a single post in my numerous feeds referred this.
Is that a good thing or a bad thing? This year marks 60 years of freedom. Are we so distanced from the horrors of war that we would rather celebrate Jedi knights and the force on such a day? In a way, I hope so.

traditionally, on this day, you light a candle in your window in remembrance of the resistance movement |
 |
happy danes! they have just been liberated. |
So in this post, that is food for thought, I hope to both remember the day of independence, but mostly get excited about the upcoming Star Wars films.
